Saga Egmont Acquires Share in the Popular ‘Rasmus Klump’ Brand

Saga Egmont has successfully secured a significant 50% ownership in Rasmus Klump P/S, marking a promising new chapter in the publisher’s commitment to creating relatable and high-quality content for children.

As co-owner alongside Tivoli, Saga Egmont is getting ready to innovate the charming world of ‘Rasmus Klump’ to resonate with young readers. This acquisition from Storyhouse initiates the arrival of exciting new content within the ‘Rasmus Klump’ universe.

Publishing Director for Saga Egmont, Lasse Korsemann Horne says about the agreement, “Our shared ownership with Tivoli allows us greater freedom to shape the narratives of the lovable characters. We’re planning to schedule multiple releases each year in a variety of digital formats including audio stories, eBooks, and potentially other exiting storytelling projects. Our ambition is to present relatable and insightful adventures that not only entertain but educate the youngest of readers”

Tivoli’s CFO, Martin Bakkegaard, says that “the new partnership opens doors to several digital media platforms where the younger audiences are. At the same time, there are plans to develop more stories based on the ‘Rasmus Klump’ universe, where the focus will be on new engaging stories and more play-learning. Saga Egmont is particularly competent and the right partner to further develop the already world-famous and beloved children’s brand.”

One of Saga Egmont’s primary goals is adding new depth and relevance to the ‘Rasmus Klump’ universe. Crafting stories that echo children’s day-to-day experiences like starting kindergarten or starting school, birthdays, digital life, friendship – and of course, adventures featuring a bounty of pancakes.

With the acquisition to be effective on the 1st of March 2025, Saga Egmont will not only focus on developing strong narratives in Denmark but also aim to translate and publish the stories across Europe. Meaning kids across several countries can look forward to going on new adventures with the delightful bear and his friends.
